December 18, 2013LOVE/HATE and QUIET RIOT frontman Jizzy Pearl was interviewed on the latest edition of "The Classic Metal Show", which is heard live on Saturdays from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. EST at TheClassicMetalShow.com. You can now listen to the chat using the audio player below.
LOVE/HATE is back with a brand new single, album and U.K. tour to heat things up during the cold winter months ahead.
The new six-track mini-album, "Crucified", will be released on January 13, with the band confirmed for an extensive tour of the U.K. in March 2014.
A new single, "Hanging You Out To Dry", is available to purchase now via iTunes.
Band frontman and principal songwriter on the new LOVE/HATE record, Jizzy Pearl, has also recently been confirmed as lead singer for legendary U.S. hard rock band QUIET RIOT.
LOVE/HATE burst onto the scene in 1990 with the debut album, "Blackout Out In The Red Room", and proceeded to take the U.K. by storm with "Best Album Of The Year" accolades from Kerrang! and Metal Hammer magazines. Playing sold-out shows and opening for SKID ROW, AC/DC and DIO put LOVE/HATE on the map. MTV hits "Why Do You Think They Call It Dope", "She's An Angel" and the band's follow-up album, "Wasted In America", has ensured a loyal following to this day.
In 2014, lead singer Jizzy Pearl will carry the LOVE/HATE tradition into the new millennium with a new album, "Crucified", featuring new original songs that sound as vibrant and young as LOVE/HATE's first records.
"Crucified" track listing:
01. Hanging You Out To Dry
02. Sunny Day
03. You're Making Me Nervous
04. I Don't Want To Be Your Baby
05. Love Is All
06. Too Late
Jizzy Pearl on "Crucified" tracks:
"Hanging You Out To Dry": "A song about the infamous Hollywood sign stunt from the viewpoint of the crucifee himself. The vibe is simple, I tried to get back to the start, a bunch of young kids banging out loud musical joy in a little room and the singer in the middle, one microphone, testifying to the world."
"Sunny Day": "A love song to my girlfriend, plain and simple. Usually I had to break up with my girlfriends to get a good song out of them, but not this time, thankfully. 'Sunny Day' is old-school LOVE/HATE psychedelia."
"You're Making Me Nervous": "A fictional account of every man's idea of a bad date. The lyrics come straight from the horse's mouth as he watches his Friday night fantasy crash and burn."
"I Don't Want To Be Your Baby": "This is a twist on the traditional power ballad where the guy not only doesn't get the girl, he doesn't want the girl."
"Love Is All": "My LED ZEPPELIN roots come out on this one, all those 'Kashmir' days and nights huddled around the peace pipe. I got to stretch out a bit and do some cool things musically that you can't normally do in a three-minute pop song."
"Too Late": "A song about someone near and dear to me who fucked up. You can't go back to high school, you can't go back to those glory days of youth. You just — can't — go — back."
Founding LOVE/HATE guitarist Jon E. Love recently threatened to sue Jizzy Pearl over the release of the "Crucified" album.
In a post on his Facebook page, Love wrote: "This is not a LOVE/HATE record. Jizzy has taken it upon himself to release his solo shit and call it LOVE/HATE. None of the original members are on it. How do I know this? Because the idiot insulted me when asking me to perform on it. Any true LOVE/HATE fan will immediately know it's not the real band. Stay tuned — more to follow as I proceed to sue him."
Love is currently recording an album with his band JON E. LOVE & THE HATERS.
